Advice about single-blade razors and brushes for shaving

I’m currently using a shaving brush and a 3-blade razor, but I’m thinking of switching to a single blade razor since I have heard they give a closer and less irritating shave. I’m just looking for other people’s experiences.

I use a brush and shaving soap – but will never go back to a single blade razor and still use the Mach 3.

The only way that I would is if it were a professional barber doing a shave with a real blade (what is sometimes call the Cut Throat Blade). I have tried this on my own – they have to be pretty sharp at all times to get a good shave.

A disposable single blade is like using a cheese grater on your face.

I no longer use single blade razor as I find the multi blade ones are better on my skin
I do occasionally use brush , but for the majority of times I just use a shave gel or foam that is good quality and for sensitive skin type

if its a cut throat your after, before you go any where near your face you need to be able to shave shaving cream off of a fully blown up balloon with out it popping. this is not a joke. your skin is like this balloon if you nick your skin it will pop too. it will take a few weeks of practice. good luck. i have used one before and love using them. they are close and smooth.
