Will a beard trimmer or an electric shaver give the unshaven look?

I really like it when my husband has about two weeks beard growth on his face. Every two weeks he uses a regular shaver with shaving cream to go smooth. When he does this, he looks like he’s 12. He says that he will keep the two week growth look if I can find him some sort of shaver or trimmer that will do the job. I am not familiar with electric shavers or trimmers and I am not sure what brands are good.. What would you recommend he use to keep the 2 week growth look without ever having to shave smooth again?

I would say if he is growing a beard, which it sounds like he is, then go for the beard trimmer.

I agree, when men shave with a razor and shaving cream they do tend to look 12. My husband uses a conair trimmer which he sets on number 2 I believe and it leaves the hair short/long as about a 1 week’s growth but all even and not scraggly.

I use a Conair beard trimmer. I have had it for about 8 years and it still cuts good but the rechargeable battery is starting to wear out. I can barely get a trim with one charge but I definitely feel that I’ve gotten my moneys worth out of it (it was only about $20). It has three combs so you can get anywhere from about 1/8″ to about 3/4″ growth plus you can do some shaping without a comb. I’m going to get another Conair soon.

My boyfriend tends to buy whatever trimmer is on sale at costco. Anything you can keep sharp, that has guards will work.

    Thanks for the article.
Same as Charles, Even I use Conair beard trimmer. It provides great cutting from the depth and looks clean and good.

I think the WAHL unit is the best on the market. I use it regularly with great results. It’s a great way to clean up without over-doing it.

I would go with a beard trimmer as well and you can many with different clips and such to achieve the right effect.

It will absolutely give you the same looks with using a manual razor but not as clean as it is done manually but a lot of men are still using it for they can save time and effort shaving their beards.

What would be a good one to use? I know I can just use the electric shaver again but I’d liked to try a regular shaver.
